Commercial Cantilever Slide Gates

Track-free, large-span slide gates engineered and fabricated in-house in Houston for high-cycle industrial and commercial sites across Texas.

Track-Free Cantilever Design Built for High-Cycle Operation

Cantilever slide gates roll on an internal roller system carried by a counterbalanced steel beam, so there is no ground track to jam, freeze, or fill with debris. That makes them the right choice for high-cycle entrances, sloped or uneven grade, and sites where a ground-track gate would fail — distribution yards, energy facilities, and 24/7 truck gates.

Because nothing in the gate path can seize, cantilever systems deliver the reliability that high-traffic commercial and industrial sites depend on, with less maintenance over their service life.

Large-Span Fabrication Up to 60 Feet

Every cantilever gate is fabricated in-house at our Houston facility from structural steel, sized to your clear opening, wind-load, and cycle requirements. Spans beyond 20 feet are built with engineered truss or tube-steel framing to stay rigid under load and automation. Custom heights, infill (chain link, ornamental steel, perforated, or solid panel), and finishes are built to spec — not pulled from a catalog.

How a Cantilever Gate Works

Instead of rolling on a wheel in the driveway, a cantilever gate hangs from roller trucks mounted to the gate posts, with a counterbalance section that extends behind the opening. The gate “floats” across the opening, fully supported from the side — which is why it handles dirt, snow, flooding, and heavy use far better than a track gate.

Engineered for Industrial & Logistics Traffic

We build cantilever systems for warehouses, distribution centers, intermodal and freight yards, refineries, substations, and utility sites. Internal roller assemblies, counterbalanced framing, and galvanized or powder-coat finishes are specified for reliable operation and long service life in the Texas climate.

Automation & Access Control, Integrated From Day One

Each cantilever gate is specified alongside its operator and access control — commercial slide-gate operators, vehicle loop detection, and UL325-compliant safety devices — and installed by one contractor. See our automation & access control and the commercial gate systems hub.

Cantilever vs. Slide-Track vs. Swing

A cantilever needs no ground track, so it is the most reliable choice for most commercial sites. A slide-track gate costs less but depends on a clean, level track. A swing gate needs clear space for the arc. We help you choose based on opening width, traffic, grade, and site conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a cantilever slide gate?
A cantilever slide gate slides open along internal rollers carried by a counterbalanced steel beam, with no ground track. Removing the track eliminates the most common failure point and suits high-cycle and uneven-grade commercial sites.
How wide can a cantilever gate span?
Advanced Fences fabricates cantilever slide gates with clear openings up to 60 feet. Spans beyond 20 feet are engineered with truss or tube-steel framing to stay rigid under wind load and high-cycle automation.
Are cantilever gates better than track (rolling) gates?
For most commercial and industrial sites, yes. With no ground track to fill with debris, freeze, or maintain, cantilever gates are more reliable for high-cycle entrances and harsh environments.
Does a cantilever gate need a track in the ground?
No. The gate is supported entirely by internal rollers and a counterbalance beam at the posts, so there is nothing in the driveway to jam, ice over, or collect debris.
Does Advanced Fences automate cantilever gates?
Yes. Every cantilever gate is integrated with a commercial-grade operator, vehicle detection, and UL325-compliant safety devices, installed by our team across Texas.
